Now Now Now!

How we spent our House Anniversary.

Ahh yes, it looks great now, but it is going to be a pill to maintain for the first few seasons. C'est la vie. This was a "I bought all these plants, I want them in the ground now!" instant gratification garden project. It cost about $45 for the seven Artemisia. We hand dug the strip, forwent the edging and didn't even come close to getting out all the grass next to the blocks. Harump. Guaranteed our lack of proper gardening techniques will come back to bite me in the butt, but I don't mind because it looks nice and it was a cheap and cheerful project that we completed in a few sunny hours. I'll be mulching with some newsprint and grass clippings over the next few days. I've still got some grass to kill in that soil.

If you ever need 'Silver Mound' you know where to come...

Have you ever completed a garden project in a "not so proper" way? Tell me about it so I don't feel so bad.

  1. I am also a very impatient gardener, but it looks to me like you did a thorough job. You can add some kind of edging later.

    1. That's what we figured. Our anxiety level has lessened since this was finished. Having plants sit around in nursery pots makes me very nervous. Perhaps when we have some extra funds, we will continue the Valders edging. Really like the look of it.

  2. I absolutely love this. It would be perfect in my side yard, although mine would not be quite as long. It's amazing. I know you are enjoying it. Cudos to you and your hubby for this!

    1. Thanks a million. I think at any size this type of landscaping can be beautiful and productive.
