Life in Minnesota: A Six Month Break

Exactly one day shy of a six month break from the snow. Workerman opened the drapery in our bedroom... the sun shines in... "Ohh nooooo!"

I'm not ready for this. All of my unpruned babies fell heavy under the first dusting. The threat of  seasonal snow and ice damage is now real and I am unprepared. I haven't even pulled my potted roses in yet; they have most likely languished. I have a lot of work to do.

Lucky for me - it's melting quickly.

On my day off, it feels like a holiday. I'm grateful for a snowy morning run, a "soon to be fixed" outlet for my cappuccino machine, jazz of the 20s and 30s and a quiet day to get some housework finished.

Has it snowed in your neck of the woods?

  1. Yes it has snowed here in Chicago but nothing stuck! Thank goodness! I cannot believe the snow that you have up there!!! Though I have no snow I have an insane amount of leaves to get off some of my babies! I have so much to do but we have had a lot of rain. All the best and I am thankful for that sweet sweet 20's and 30's music too!

  2. No, and it is very dry here. We could use some rain, which lately has been skipping off the radar just north of us. If we get snow, it is usually after the holidays.
